Normally you don't use sealant on your header gaskets.

I have used permatex ultra copper with good luck on my cars. As for the gasket it self I used felpro exhuast manifold gaskets on my edlebrock TES headers. I have used these gaskets for over 3 years on my '69 camaro with no problems. The only reason it was only 3 years was I took them off to repaint the headers. Last night this is what I used the replace the crapy Mr.Gasket ultra seal (read ultra $hit) after it blow apart after only 3 weeks.

Normally, yea... you dont use any.

When you have a problem child (like me) you try different stuff, and Permatex Ultra Copper (PN#101BR). Seems to be working pretty good so far.
