factory PCV valvee looks weird...

So I'm replacing my PCV valve. Went to Kragen and got the part. I yank out the old one and it's weird looking, as in I'm not sure what to take out. There's a length of hose going from the PCV to somewhere, but with the factory PCV it just looks like it's attached. I was thinking of just getting a length of rubber hose to connect the new PCV valve to where the old one went to, but I want to post this picture since I'm quite confused. Sorry for the noob question but thanks for the help.

(factory is on the right. You can't see it in this picture but the new in the old one all that black colored plastic is ONE piece

The replacement looks fine to me. Just plug it in and run a length of hose from it to the vacuum port on the intake or carb or whatever, depending on what form of fuel delivery you have.
