i want to know how vavle float feels like

hey guys i have a lt1 cam in my freshly rebuilt 5.0 tbi engine.the heads have same stock specs springs but new along with seal exc.now wat does vavle float feel like wat does ur engine do? my engine like at 3800 rpm like acts gay it gos to 5800 rpms but take it time while at the same time not wannting to get rpms.wat isthis?

Are they stock springs? You say stock specs, but does that mean they are factory springs? If so, it could very well be valve float.

Since valve float is the valve bouncing back OFF the seat at high RPM's due to the springs lack of force to keep the valve closed, it bleeds off compression. Lowering the compression lowers the total amount of power any given cylinder can produce.

Basically, to sum it up, the revs go up, but power drops off the deep end.

i understand much better wat it does now,but im not to sure that could be my problems .wat are good vavle springs for me to get with the lt1 cam?or wat else can i do so i never have to worry about vavle float?

It's mostly called "a cam a little too big for really small ports" on stock 305 heads. AND I know how you feel.

If your valves are set right I doubt it is valve float. You need chip work. Your upper rpm fuel and spark tables are way off. The only way to fix it is by burning your own chips. There are no band aids.
