Timing for LG4 sticker

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, 3.23 non-LS
Timing for LG4 sticker

Can someone explain this sticker on my 83 Z28 (LG4). I thought everyone was saying that the factory timing for an LG4 was o degrees.

GM changed the base timing spec somewhere along the life of the LG4.

Yeah, my 82 LG4 says 6* on the sticker as well...maybe they changed it in 84+ ?

So all the talk about advancing to 4-6 degrees beyond factory (0 degrees) does not apply to me. So 6 degrees should be optimal for my LG4 or should I advance it to 8 or 10?.

Try it and see, if you get detonation you can always put it back.
