When I start my car minutes after I have just ran it, the starter makes a 'grinding' sound sometimes. The car still starts after some hesitation, but i dont like that sound. It almost sounds like Im holding the key down too long, but I dont think I am. This only happens some of the time. Anyone? Doug

Sounds like the starter gear isn't engaging properly. Might want to think about dropping it and checking it out, possibly replacing it.
