Hi guys,
Before i put the intake and carb on the car it was a stock non cc 305. It has an aftermarket cat back (unkown brand, came with the donor car) and before I changed the parts it had an extremely bassy idle. inside the car it could easily drown out my two 12's (at moderate listening volume). When diriving it had a very satisfying deep growl.

Now
I've added the intake and carb. It idles alot better (due i'm sure to my stock carb having a cracked casing, and other broken parts) but has lost all the volume throughout the rpm range.

Performance wise, I am very pleased, as it drives like a new car(although i believe its running too rich) Throttle response is excellent, and it now actually goes when i hit WOT But where did all my exaust volume go???

My only thought is it has something to do with egr (intake has no egr provisions) or changing to an open element filter (may sound odd, but when we pulled the air box off my buddies del-sol and put in a cold air kit, the car sounded a whole lot different)

Any one got any ideas??

Usually open air elements usually make the car sound louder.

If the car was out of tune and not running good that could of made it loud.
