Serpentine swap question

I am getting ready to swap my '91 serpentine system onto my '84 L69 but I have a question before I begin pulling things off my engine. Do my L69 heads have the required accessory bolt holes to attach my '91 accessories?

Except for one maybe. On the pass head one of the top accessory bolts holes for the aluminum bracket may be "missing".Its at the top near the intake manifold.I drilled my head to tap it & went right into the water jacket. So watch for that. Also a minor problem is the intake tube for the smog pump. You may need to cut & reroute it to clear your diverter valve.

Does anyone who has done the swap know EXACTLY how much wire is needed to extend the wiring for the alternator? Will I need a new battery cable or just some car stereo amplifier wire? For the connector on the alternator, will I use the same plug-in connector or will I need to extend THOSE wires too?

You will have to lengthen it to reach over to the Dr side.To about the valve cover.Thats where the Alt will be,measure that distance(or you can do what i did, when i was at the junkyard one day i just removed the wire from the battery cable to the alt from a V6 camaro that had a Dr side Alt.The wire gauge was much thicker ,due to the Xtra lenght).Your battery cables should be O.K.There is a bolt hole right by the serp A/C compressor on the aluminum bracket on the outer part. You can hook the Gr. cable there. On the Alt Connector I removed the wire from the factory loom all the way to the Rear of the engine. Then i just redirected it over to the Dr.side.I did not have to add any extra wire,BUT it just reaches the Alt.One thing you may have to do though. Is change the connector plug.Depending on the years or what Alt you use. Some Alt use the older style, later years use a weather pack type plug.GM also has an adaptor plug harness for this.It uses a resistor that is required when converting from the older Alts(larger size) to the newer(smaller size) alternators.
