This is one of those dumb questions that if you don't ask it, you look even dumber when you do it wrong.

The questions is:

Does the spring side of the thermostat go toward the engine or away from the engine?

I think it goes toward the engine because that is the side that reacts to the coolant temp in the block.

Right or wrong????

 

spring goes into the engine, pointed end facing up
