This question has probably been beaten to death and I apologize before I ask it... If I install a colder thermostat is there anything else I need to change? Also what temp do you guys suggest on a 3.1L? One more thing can I change the temp that the fan comes on? Any help will be appreciated.

 

Actually I'd rather ask why you want to do that.

180 is probably the best choice, and all you need is the thermostat and gasket.

Im not sure how your fan is rigged up, I am guessing its a switch in the passenger side cylinder head. You can either change that, or get an aftermarket adjustable fan switch (Hayden makes a nice one) and hook that up. Its about 35 bucks for the aftermarket switch, and its what I use. I have them on 3 different cars, and use them on other cars I have worked on too.

Oh and I wanted to make sure (even though it appears you know) is that the thermostat wont do anything to make the car run cooler at lower speeds.
