fuel pump relay

how can i tell if the fuel pump relay is working or not.when the engine is on i can hear a loud ticking coming from the relay.I've also noticed the injectors spraying like crazy from time to time while the car is just siting there.I'm also getting oil on my air breather from the valve cover

Considering as he sees spray out the injectors, the pump is functional, thus, the fuse is still good.

How do you know its the fuel pump relay? There is a strip of about 3 different relays there.

Oh and define air breather? Is it the air filter housing? Or did is it a breather filter installed into the VC? Either way, do you have the PCV installed? If so, try replacing it. Oil is bursting out because of excessive pressure build up. This may be the PCV's fault (clogged) or it may be a result of work rings (excessive crank case pressure, aka blow by).

Before you start your car, turn the key on. If you hear the pump run, it's working. If you don't, then you have to crank the engine over untill the oil pressure switch send's a signal to run the fuel pump.
