slp injectors

i just ordered the 25# slp fuel injectors. i was reading some old posts in this forum and the TPI forum and some people said that they had to grind something down on the fuel rail to get them to fit. others said they popped right in with no modifications. can anyone who has them let me know what you had to do to install them? thanks guys

Yup. I too heard they were a perfect fit, but, no way. Definitely short and to make up for that, I ground down the section of the rail that fits over the mounting studs on the manifold. I think about an eighth of an inch. Then they'll fit.
Good luck.

I used a drill press and a spade bit with lots of cutting oil. Not fun, but then again there aren't too many people as determined as I am.

I put them on a 91 formula without doing any modding to the fuel rail/intake mounting, no problems.

I put them on an 89 GTA with no modding. They have been there since 2002 with no problems. They are shorter but all you need to do is center the injector. If you are uncomfortable with that then you can grind down the mounts on the intake base.

Either way...you can't beat the price for what are supposed to be decent injectors.
