Hey guys im in a perdicament right now! Today i was out wrokin on my Z/28 with a 454 and i was looknig around at lasting numbers and when my dad bought the car 13 years ago the guy told him that it had a Ls6 (Crate engine version) and today while looking at the driver side spot i found the numbers "GM 10 T" and on the passanger side ive found "A19 77" what does tihs all mean and where might i find my casting numbers!!

 

All I can see in that is that you found the casting date for the block.

The T may mean truck, but i'm not sure about where you found the numbers, or much about BBC casting numbers anyway.

Alright so i found out the guy lied to us some 13 years ago it is indeed not an LS6 =/. But!! Its a 4 bolt 77 454 with 781 118cc chamers 255/114 and intake and exaust ports 11:1 CR Solid lifter cam headmen headers Performer 2.0 manifold andan m22 4-speed with 4.10's and street tires the car ran 11.0@135mph so im not worryed about being slow but while on another found i found thta a guy had the exact i mean exact same setup in an impla which leads me to think its a crate engine so just listing my findings oh well its a wicked fast car on and engine dyno it made 598hp! Any big block guys know if this was truely a crate engine made in the 80's?
