'Slow' is a blanket statement. Most thirdgens are slow. A sizeable amount aren't... the newer the thirdgen, the less chance of it being slow. The 91/92 TPI cars are no slouches, and in fact the SD L98 is barely slower than an LT1 auto.

But relative to an LS1 car (which is almost as fast as a lot of exotics) yeah I guess they are slow.
