Rear of Car Twitching Sideways
Rear of Car Twitching Sideways
Hi,
When I am cruising along at 50 to 65 mph, let off the gas and coast, then lightly hit the gas again, the rear of the car twitches sideways slightly but quite noticeably. No twitching when starting off from a stop.
Is this normal ? Something broken ? As far as I know, the shocks and leaf springs are OK.
Thanks

Closely inspect the panhard rod and brace mountings. It's sole purpose is to keep the axle centered on the vehicle.
Also check the lower control arms, aince they are primarily for rotational control and longitudal axle positioning, but also limit the yaw of the axle.
The torque arm is used mostly for rotational limiting, and somewhat for positioning the axle fore and aft under the body.
