How do you change heads

I am putting in a new cam and heads and need a little help. There is plenty of information around on how to put in a new cam but i'm worried about putting on my new heads. I am putting on 305 TPI heads onto my 305 TBI. i'm changing the valve springs as well but that's not where my question lies. I'm wondering what the process is for putting them onto the engine. Once i get them all bolted down what all do i need to go about doing. Things like setting valve lash and anything else along that line i need to know what order to do them in. Any information you can give me or links to other posts would be greatly appreciated. i've been searching around but haven't found a writeup or directions to make sure the valves are all squared away before i start her up.

Definatly get the Haynes or Chilton manual. It is much easier to use it to read while you are working on the car instead of running back to the computer.

Did you read the sticky in the TBI board about the LT1 cam swap. Well you when you get your engine down to the state when you change the cam the heads can basically come off at any time. You need to remove the exhaust manifolds and any engine grounds and or sensor leads that come out of the heads.
