how do these go in again?

ok i have a stupid question but I can't remember how the rods go in? does the chamfer go toward the inside of the main or the outside?

You didn't mark your rods, did you? (Done that myself once or twice.)

Once again, the chamfer is installed outward, toward the radius of the rod journals on the crank. The non-chamfered sides of the rod faces are installed toward the opposing rod on the journal, or face-to-face.

Another hint is if the rod/cap has a bearing shell retainer notch, those are generally installed toward the outside of the engine case (away from the cam). Or if the rod has an oil spurt hole near the mating line for the cap, the oiling holes are installed toward the cam, or inward.

nope i actually got new rods and when I was about to put the pistons on I totally blanked on how they go in. Thanks for the help !
