Fuel line & Headers
Fuel line & Headers
I put Edelbrock TES headers on my '84 L69. On the passenger side the header almost, if not, tuches the fuel line. I put high temp wrap on it but I don't trust it. Its so close I'm afrade the header might crush the line if the engine shakes much. My question is. Would it be ok to cut that piece of line out and replace with rubber line and run it up higher?

i had the same problem with my hedmans, i put some heat shield around the lines, hasnt done anything yet, i dont know if you can just cut the lines, there flared, so they dont leak.

You could cut and use hose if you want. I wouldn't be too worried about the engine shaking and hitting the line but all that heat could vaporize the fuel.

IMHO about the worst thing you could do would be to put rubber line in a hot place like next to a header.
Get up under the car; in the very center of the trans tunnel, above the bell housing, you will see a bracket that holds the line in place. Make sure the line is in the bracket. If it is in the correct place and still seems too close, bend it so that the part that goes up to the "frame" is farther rearward.
