Starting issue

I have a 91 Formula 350 and as of today, it won't start whatsoever. The engine rotates, fuel is indeed coming through the fuel lines, spark plugs look great, battery is fine, and distributor is fine (I am however, not positive about the coil). I did get it started one day by simply undoing the + batter cable and then putting it back on, and it ran beautifully for that day. On the next day, it just went right back to rotating but not starting. I am dumbfounded and any advice would appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You should start by determining whether there is spark or not during the no-start episodes.

I checked the wires and there is absolutely no spark going through some of them. I thought the distributor cap was fine, but it was indeed corroded. I sanded off the deposits and it did start but died once again. The rotor was checked and it did spin, but I am unsure of how fast it should be spinning. I'm going to try the new cap and see if that helps. Any response on how fast the rotor in the distributor should be spinning would be appreciated.

The rotor is attached, essentially, to the shaft, which in turn has a gear attached to it. This gear meshes with the gear on the rear of the camshaft. It will spin as fast as the camshaft is spinning.

While the cap is off, might as well replace the rotor too. Only 2 screws hold it down. Easy swap out.

Well, I changed the distributor cap and it started right up, but then died and now it won't start again. I don't know what it possibly could be considering that the battery is fine, cables are fine, the distributor is now fine, and it has fuel going through the lines. Any more help would be much appreciated.
