clutch rod bushing

the plastic bushing that holds the slave cylinder rod to the clutch pedal broke yesterday. I bought a new one, it broke too. I'm going to wake up early tomorrow go buy 4 of them(at the dealer. love how no one else has them.) Can anyone tell me how the bushing goes on, so it actually holds the rod to the pedal? I put the bushing in the eyelet of the rod today, then onto the pedal, that didn't work. Is it possible I just got a bad bushing? Thanks.

my mistake, it's the push rod going to the clutch master cylinder, not the slave cylinder.
