Coolant Temp Sensor

I am getting a Code 15, I am pretty sure its because of my coolant temp sensor. Its old and the plastic is broken on it. My 83 has a different type compared to the other years I have seen. I attached some pics. Mine is the circular one with the orange top. I have a sensor from my 84 Z which is a diffirent style. Can I use that and the wiring? Will I be ok with splicing in the new style harness or will that throw of the readings to the ECM?

Yes.

If you buy a replacement CTS, it will come with the later style of connector, in the box with the sensor; instead of that stupid circular thing we originally got stuck with.

Yup!
Although, some parts stores charge extra for the pigtail.
