Heater motor help!

About a month ago i couldn't turn my heater on, nothing happened, AC wouldn't turn on either. At first i thought i had burned a fuse, but the fuse was fine. So i lifted the hood and look around the heater motor and i noticed that the DARK GREEN wire wasn't connected to anything. The Purple and Black wires went into the heater motor itself, then the Black, Red, and Light Green wires are attached to their respective colors, and then there is the Dark Green wire, which is just sitting there. What does it attach to???

oh yeah, sometimes if i move the switch to AC, it will come on, then i can move the switch to Vent, or Heat, and it will work, but it will NOT work when i move it to defrost. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Also my highest fan speed won't work, when i CAN get the heat to come on, I know that has something to do with a high speed relay or something?? Is all of this a result of the Green wire not being attached??

I took a few pictures of the wires, if someone could look at it and tell me whats going on i would appreciate it

Those blue plastic connectors (ScotchLocks) need to go. Remove them, slip on a piece of heat shrink tubing, and solder the wires. Those things are a disaster waiting to happen.

BTW - Do the wires in those connectors go downward toward the starter?

There is no green wire in the blower control circuit. I'm not sure where it might belong.
