Is 160 degrees worth it?

I'm thinking of just going with a 180. I have a spare 160 thermostat but don't have a chip for the ECM so this will give SES lights, right? I've also seen a lot of arguments over it. Does anyone have the 160 therm/160 Chip? Is it worth it? Also, if I decide to go with 160, where can I find a 160 degree thermomaster chip at? I've checked Jegs and Summit and a few Camaro pages.

Thanks,
Matt

A 160* t-stat does need to have either a lower fan switch or the eprom changed to turn FAN#1 on sooner, or you won't get the full effect.

As a mod though, it is pretty much useless. It basically tricks the ecm to remain in "warm up" mode and basically burns too much gas, especially when the weather gets cooler. I tried them all, and found the 180* works best for me.
