As good as chevelles.com?
OK I'm new to this site. I've been a member of the chevelles.com site for 3 years for my
69 Chevelle SS396, but now I need help with my son's 1988 camaro 305 tbi. We've had
the car for 2 years. Last week while on the freeway the temp gauge climbed (hot day, air
cond. on) Pulled over to check it out. Wasn't that hot. When he got back in the gauges
were all dead. Checked the fuse and it was blown. New fuses just blow instantly. Also,
when the lights are turned on, the buzzer that tells you that you left your lights on stays
on even after starting the engine. Also the cruise control is dead.........So far We have
checked under the hood for loose or frayed wires. Checked the wires from all sending units with a meter to check for a dead short.
Removed an OLD alpine security system that didn't work but had lots of wires
everywhere. Took the gauge package out so we could look for a dead short.
(the dash is a bit more complicated than my chevelle). Disconnected the cruise control and disconnected the headlight switch. Anyway so far no luck, it still
blows the gauges fuse as soon as you turn the key on.
Who knows what's wrong or where the short is? I hope this site is as helpful as the
chevelle site. THANKS
