Vortec Rods?
Anyone happen to know if Vortec rods are 5.7's? And is there anything better about them then the old rods in a L05? I am getting started on a 350 buildup, and I have an option for some cheap rods out of a low mileage Vortec motor. Just wondering if they are lighter or stronger or anything like that.

I believe the rods in the 5.7L Vortecs are the same as used in the LT-1's.
That would mean the 5.7" powdered metal rods.
They are usually considerd to be better than the ones used in your L05.

So would powdered metal rods be worthy of 400+ hp? My plan is for 435 horse setup for now, with possible turbo later on down the road. So I'll probably add on an Eagle crank, and Milodon 4 bolt splayed main kit.
