1992 Camaro Z28 stalls during shifting

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have a 1992 Camaro Z28 with 41,000 miles on it. The problem I have is that sometimes, when I shift from park to reverse, the car stalls, the rev goes down, and eventually the engine dies. I start it back up and everything is fine again.

These are the only things I had done over the last few months:

-k&n filter
-dynomax muffler
-tuneup, using new AC delco rapidfire spark plugs
-spark plug wires were still in good condition
-new holley intank fuel pump

Another thing I notice is that sometimes this instrument notice light comes on "INFL REST", and I can't seem to find anything on the net about this.

Could it be an O2 sensor or possibly a distributor going bad?

Thnx so much to anyone willing to help,

best regard,

virgo

I don't know much about most of your problems, but I can tell you INFL REST means Inflatable Restraint, that is for your air bag. If I remember correctly it should come on all the time if it is working properly, but I am not completely sure. You might want to check in a Chilton manual or an equivalent source.
