anybody try this yet?

My dad back in N.J has a 510 big block that I wanted to put in my camaro (this is before gas went up) Don't know where he got it or anything, and he refuses to sell it, I just wanted to know if anybody tried putting one in a thirdgen and if thety did what happen.

510? I hope that is not the Ford BB Crate motor. It is against the law to install a Ford engine in a Chevy.

No, it was a BB chevy. I think I rember him telling me it was out of a boat. I coulden't tell you the bore/stroke 'cause I dont remember. Another queston, what would it do to a T5?

A T5 bolted to a 502 big block would last about as long as a three-legged hampster in a room full of cats. (And when it's over, the hampster will be in fewer pieces than the T5)

Many people have put Big Blocks in our thirdgen's if you search the archives you'll find a lot of articles about it. I myself am doing the 502 swap in next upcoming months it will really be worth it (I hope).

Find TAZ in the TBI/Exhaust forum, he will know the link to a Firebird that got a blown 454! As a matter of fact, I'll try to find it myself. I think it was in the motor swap forum.
