I need to order a distributor and a carb today and I'd really love to know some part numbers for vac advance distributors.

We have this powerful tool called "the internet", and you can't do a simple search.
Really, this really, really isn't that hard. Summit or eBay, a search will get you what you need.

You know, SEARCH is pretty damn pointless in my opinion... If you DO happen to find something relevant, it'll be 100 pages back in the search... Once you get past all the posts telling people to "SEARCH!"
Given that, it's ****ing impossible given that people use different terminology, have typos, and all that crap.. It can be very hard to find any relevance.
Lastly, Each question's answers will sometimes be different given that everybody has a different car. If you find a post relating to what you want, sometimes it'll be inthe V6 section, and thus not help you at all if you have a V8... This is an example.
Another thing is that products get discontinued, better ones come out, etc. etc. So doing a SEARCH for an item, you may get answers for links that are 1) INVALID from a site innovation.. 2) They don't carry that product 3) the product doesn't fit your application, or 4) A better product is out there that wasn't at the time of that post.. making searching sort of pointless

I'm pretty much agreeing with that.
If the answer is really that easy, why not just give it rather than to say "do a search?"
Yes I searched. I found nothing really valuable in answering my questions. I am not sure what I need. I am going from TBI to carb and I want to know which distributor I am going to have to order, and how to wire it into my existing harness.

A great general distributor that is non computer controlled with vacuum advance will come from a '74-'79 Camaro with a 350... You can have a parts store look up one for one of those models and get a reman one from there...

Chevy V8 distributors are one of the most universal parts to be found. If you look on ebay or any aftermarket catalog you'll see that SBC and BBC use the same piece.
The thing to look for is one that's adjustable, meaning the vac advance and mech advance mechanisms can be recurved to meet your needs.
Just get a decent HEI one with an adjustable vac cannister, and if you can afford it get an MSD.
Also, any HEI can be upgraded to MSD later on if you can't afford all the stuff at once.
Don't scrimp on wires, get some good ones right off, they'll last a long time and it will be one less thing to be suspicious of, if your engine starts running crappy.
And if you have a roller cam, be sure to get the right gear for it if it needs one.
