how noisy are full roller rockers?

I have afr 195 heads, 1.6 narrow body full roller rockers(for center bolt heads, hardened pushrods and roller lifters

I checked and nothing seems to be hitting. geometry is right on. it sounds like very very loud injectors. I put the valve covers on thinking it would get pretty quiet but, it is still there (same on both sides and all rockers)

I guess I would like to know what the noise level should be

With a hydraulic cam there shouldn't be any noise.

How about the 1.6 ratio. Is it creating too much lift and the bottom of the spring retainer is hitting the top of the valve guide? Throw on a set of 1.5 ratio and see if the noise goes away.

Mine have always made a little bit of noise just like you described. I thought there was a problem at first but after readjusting them a few times and checking to make sure nothing was rubbing or hitting I have come to the conclusion that its just the rockers making a little noise. Its been doing it for about 3000 miles now and I havent had any metal in my oil and the car runs great so I think everything is normal.

I had noise with my Crane Energizer roller rockers when I first tried them three years ago... I took them off because I didn't like the noise.. I recently reinstalled them on my GTA, but this time I adjusted them correctly (e.g. make sure that once you get zero lash, do a half turn, then tighten the set screw, THEN tighten the nut and the set screw (it will end up being like 1/8 of a turn) together).. Doing it like this makes sure they don't loosen.. Now they sound just like the standard rockers I had on before... If you adjust them right, you shouldn't have any noise...
