Power Steering Pulley Puller

Need a little help here guys.

My alternator bracket broke so I need to pull the pump to replace the bracket. I bought a cheap $20 puller from Pep Boys but it was worthless. I borrowed a snap-on set but there just isn't enough room to use it with the radiator still in.

I used to have a cheap system that came with my supercharger that worked great for pulling the pulley, but I sold it along with my supercharger. Do any of you know where I can get puller that will get the job done?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Never mind, problem solved.

All I needed was the cheap puller, a grinder to manipulate the cheap puller, a 1/4 extension and a couple of c-clamps. Still, if anyone has had success with the "right" tool, I might be able to find room in my tool box for it.

The "right" tool works a whole lot better with the pump/pump bracket OFF the car for the exact reason you describe- tool is too long to use it in-car most times.

You're certainly right. For some reason I thought there was a bolt hidden behind the pump that would keep the bracket on, but in hind site there wasn't. At least I didn't have to deal with the mess of pulling the power steering lines.
