window regulator?
window regulator?
this is about a 94 blazer.. my cousin's drivers side window just quit working, so he took it too a local garage. When we went to look at it, the guy said that the bar holding the window was broken, or had become unattached.. so anyways, he says that it needs a new regulator, but it only comes with a motor.. total parts are 198$. labor is about a hundred.. 198 is a little high i told my cousin, and to try to do it himself.. first of all, doesnt this sound a bit high to anyone else? and wouldnt it be best to get one out of a yard and install it himself? i hate garage's(most of them)

the window motor in my 92 bird is fried also. new motor $194.00 at parts stores or thru Jeg's. My mechanic said about $80 to put it in. After reading the tech. article here the $80 sounds like money well spent.

i'd say the price for the parts and labor are about right and no i wouldn't buy used parts.

I got a new motor for my car from AutoZone for about $90!!!!!! I changed it myself, but I'm also 10ft. tall and bulletproof.
(translation; stupid, and too dumb to admit it) It wasn't easy to change it without another person there to help, but I did it. I bought new rivets from the local Chevy dealer, and had a local bodyshop pop them in, FOC. They're 1/4" rivets, and I didn't have the $$$ to buy a gun that big. That's really the only problem I had.
Why was the motor for your's so expensive? I was pissed when I had to pay $90!!!!!
Golly gee willikers. Check around for better prices.
