Theres a special socket made for O2 sensors. Get one and a 12" extension. It'll come out easy.

Spray some penetrating oil on it (PB Blaster is great stuff) and heat it up(running the engine for a few minutes will suffice). Then either cut the wire off and use a regular 7/8 socket, or get one of the o2 sensor sockets to go around the wire. Don't burn yourself, it should come out easy. Be liberal with the anti-seize on the new one.

Where can I get some of this anti-sieze stuff? Do they sell it at auto parts stores and would it work to free up a rusted cat?

Thanks for the help everyone. After posting this message i was looking around on the Autozone store website and found out about the O2 socket and went and bought one last night. I am going to make the change tonight.

It's probably just a little late, but be careful with your knuckles. If you don't get the socket on just right it can slip.
