Winter Car Repair
ok guys while my camaro is up in the garage i would really like to get my "winter car" which is suppose to be for winter..lol fixed. Its snowing... Anyway i have an 89 Nissan Sentra 1.6 V9HAFO its a 4cly 2bbl carb. I have narrowed my problem down to a pickup coil but for this car you cannot just buy the coil you have to buy the whole distributer. I have been calling around and i have heard that there are four different types of distributers for that year. Are several years compatible for this car and will a dizzy off a fuel injected work on a carbed? Not sure where to start expecially after seeing the distributer isnt orginal has has no numbers on it what so ever. I can only find them on fuel injected because all the cars around here that are carbed are stripped or not the right year.
Really dont wanna have to pay the $180 for a new one

I wouldn't want to spend any more than necessary on a winter beater, either.
Unfortunately, I don't know anything that will help you out. Maybe you just need to search a bit more for the part (coil). The remanufacturers must be getting them somewhere. Tried the dealer?
Worse yet, this ThirdGen technical site has rules about posting content for ThirdGen F-cars only. We'll leave it up, so hopefully someone that might be able to help can email or PM you, but we don't want to consume any server space or bandwidth on the topic.
Good luck.
