88 vs 92 tank & pump

88 vs 92 tank & pump

Is there a diff between a 88 305tbi firebird gas tank and pump & a 92 305tbi camaro tank & pump,besides the baffels.

anyone? The reason I ask is my 88 formula has a brand new pump and the body is shot. The 92 has a good body

I can tell you from experience learned the hard way that even a good functional tbi pump is junk. If your pulling the tank then spend the extra 100 some odd dollars for a good aftermarket or higher performance GM pump, even if the motor is still stock. While a HV pump could empty your gas tank a dozen times over in an hour, the tbi pump would still be struggling to fill up a shot glass. its really that bad.

As far as the tanks, I dont think either one has all that much baffling and each could substitute for the other. You can tell for sure by pulling the pump assy. and visually inspecting each. Id use the tank thats in better condtion.
