I was thinking of putting a msd box on my 305. Anyone done this? I was told this will help out with gas mileage...if so how much? Will i feel any performance gains? Is it worth the time and $?

My car had it when I bought it and it rides and accel. as smooth as can be. I get a lil over 20 mi/gal I think.

It will help with mileage a little. You will feel it more in the throttle response. It jumps off the line a lot quicker. They have an adapter for the TPI cars that makes the hardest part of the install deciding where to put it. It was probably the easiest mod install I've ever had.

 

My MSD box was by far the biggest waste of money I have spent on my car. I saw no gain in performance or mileage. I even ran with and without it at the track.

I say spend the money on a good coil and wires before wasting it on an MSD unit.
