The specs on my cam are for a cam installed @ 106 intake centerline. If I understand this thing right then that means I should install my cam @ 4 degrees advance instead of straight up (0 degrees)Is that right or wrong? Can someone shed some light on this without getting to difficult.

Advancing the cam increases low end torque at the expense of high end RPMs. Retarding the cam does the opposite.

OEM's often (at least, used to) advance the cam to allow for cam chain stretch over time. This put the cam more in its intended operating range as the engine got older.
