I was thinking of putting a 2500 stall in my car this season. Is this a good idea with my setup?

 

A higher stall converter behind an LT1 is generally a good idea. They seldom lack for low end torque, and moving the RPM range up should help. However, the steep rear gears you have will really make the vehicle jump, and may sacrifice soem top end/trap speed for a big launch. You'll know with more certainty once you try it, but the LT1 is better suited to the higher stall than a TPI with the same kind of gearing.

 

Thank you for the informative response Vader! That's the thing, I don't want to pay one thing to rob another. Having said that, the car performs very well right now all the way through the power band. I originally put 3:73's in the car but they became problematic so when it was time to change them we went with the 4:10. I thought I would lose some top end but I was wrong. The car screams all the way up to 100mph. I can't believe what a BIG difference 4:10 is to 3:73, they rock! So I think I should be ok, but I've never been to the track and don't know when I will. Its not that high a stall so I think it'll be a good thing. I'm going to put some LCA relocaters on along with some BFG's and life should be good!
