Hey, I'm in the process of tuning the car and am getting ready to do the timing chain since it hasn't been done in a long time, and the valve seals (damn startup smoke is buggin me now lol) I figure since I'm doing the seals I might as well do the springs as well. anywhos...

I'm sticking with stock cams for now and have searched but haven't really been able to find a good definitive timing chain. I'm looking at the Cloyes chains, can anyone recommend which cloyes is a good choice?

Also with the seals, I'm pretty much decided on using the fel-pro viton's. Can anyone tell me which part numbers they'd be?

Lastly, I figure since I'm doing the seals I might as well to the springs also. Again, can anyone recommend a good set of springs? Engine is stock so any ideas of them would be greatly appreciated, and if there's a little added performance to a certain type or another...I won't complain!

Anything else that isn't too complex you guys might recommend while I'm doing those? Thanks for all the help!

hard to beat cloyes timing sets. no idea on seals, parts man ought to be able to find the number with no problem. find springs to match you cam, comp, lunati, and crane make good stuff. i'd stay away from k motion and GM

Thanks, I think I've got the part #'s for the seals.

As for the timing chain, does it matter which Cloyes or will a good basic one work?

As for matching the springs to the cams, I don't know much about cams yet, all I know is that mine are stock lol. Any help? thanks

If you get a true double roller from Cloyes, you may have to modify your block, so watch out for that. Mine hit the middle oil gallery plug boss, which required a lot of metal to be taken off.

As for springs... maybe Comp 986? I'm not sure, I'm sure someone else will give you input.
