Yet another update on my crank but no start condition after header install....

After my last post, I came away pretty convinced my no start condition was caused by leaky injectors. Well, I've since replaced them with new SVO units, with no change to my car's status. As a recap, I found as much gas in my oilpan as I did oil, and fuel pressure would go up to about 20 psi then immediately bleed off when the key was turned to "on". The fuel pressure STILL goes to 20 psi then bleeds off, even after the injector swap. I have not found any fuel leaks that may be causing it. The car cranks very strong, but just doesn't turn over; like when the coil wire is disconnected. All connections are solid, fuses good, and cylinders get spark.

Any suggestions now? Is this pointing to fuel pump? If so, what about all the fuel in the oil? The engine is an 88 L98.

Check the injector harness, Sounds like a short somewhere to ground. (leaves the injectors wide open.....)

It would make sense that the injectors are not closing and flooding the combustion chambers, which leak gas into the oil pan?

Use a noid light or DVOM to see if the injectors are hot with KOEO. Could even be a bad injector driver in the ECM thats staying closed, but usually when you fry MOSFET's the circuit stays open. Did you pinch any harnesses during your header install? Dont forget the cold start injector!

I'll try to trace back through the wiring and see if I can find a short and see if I can test the injectors. It makes sense that it's a problem with the injectors somewhere.

When I replaced the injectors, I didn't replace the cold-start injector becaue GM discontinued it and doesn't have a replacement. I don't think a leaky cold-start valve could cause the amount of gas I had in my oil anyway.
