Damage Estimate??

Well, somebody just hit me in my Camaro in the mall parking lot. The front fascia (84 Sport coupe style), LF fender, LF headlight, LF turn signal, and the hood are all screwed and need to be replaced. What kind of figures should I expect for the damage? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Cost estimate vary too much...i/e buy a similar parts car for 300.00, replace what you need and head to Miracle Paint, and it's a 500.00 total project...

Take it to the dealer and look for new or NOS parts, you could be looking at $5000.00.

Good Excuse to get IROC parts if that's what you like, but you are probably looking at thoses numbers as far as parts cars or NOS.

My money say's the insurance company totals it. they'll say that the cost to fix it exceeds the value of the car. They're only interested in the year and an '84 is a dinosaur to an insurance agent

then do what they say. buy it back for next to nothing and fix it and put the extra money into making it that much nicer!

Sounds like you need a new quarter panel, hood, spoiler, and accessories attached.

Add labor and paint, (whole car or just the front half?)

This is assuming you have no damage to the steering, front end or wheel.

My guess is at least 3 grand, but it also depends on where you live.

Fender $100
Headlight Asy $100
Front Fascia $200-$400
Paint $150
Panel alignment $200

Labor $600 +

All of these prices are probably low, but that's what I've seen aftermarket and used parts go for.
When someone dented my fender I got a $650 estimate from the dealer.

The panel alignment isn't -that- bad; you could change all these pieces yourself and save a ton of money. Time to visit some junkyards!
