major computer problem?
I have a 1985 Trans Am, 5 sp with the L69 engine and recently I had the check engine light come on permanently. Since the light came on, the cruise control no longer works, and when cold, the engine acts like it's got a rev limiter on it around 3000 rpm. I took my car to auto zone, but they were unable to read the codes on it, plus when I put a jumper between pins a and b, the light does not flash, but stays on solid.
Is this a possible computer problem? Any help would be appreciated.

One of the times my computer went south it acted like it had a rev limiter because it wasnt advancing the base timing, that may be a place to start. If it is bad get a computer from the boneyard. The first one i replaced eith an autozone computer it failed in 3 1/2 months, it had a 3 month warranty
, so the second time i went to the junkyard 40 bucks no problems since.

the ecm is located on the passenger side, behind the panel that has the floor light attached to it. This should be secured down with 7 mm hex heads, along with the ecm itself.
