Serpentine Swap over
Hey all,
I have an 87 SC nwith a 305 700R4 combo. I'm switching the v-belt set up to an 88 serp that I got off an 88 formula. I have all the parts needed (buying aftermarket waterpump) however, I know some things are different ( water pump is reverse flow, and alt and a/c compressor are on different sides) but is there anything else I am missing or need to know? Please help as I don't want to damage my new engine.
Chris

No, it sounds like you have it nailed. There is one other thing you might run into, on TPI motors (maybe others too) the hard fuel lines (from the flex lines to the throttle body) are different. They are cheap at the dealer, I think I paid like $15 for both of them. If you have headers, the A/C pump brace that attaches to the passenger side header won't work without mods. I did the same conversion, but on a TPI GTA motor and I left the little rod braces off. Well that's not a good idea, the A/C bracket broke after a few weeks of use. I replaced it, and got all of the braces in there, and have had no problems since.

No the serp set up came off a TBI Formula 305 and is going on my LG4. I have a bunch of new parts going on a new motor so I figured i'd do the swap while the motor is still outside the car.
