How big a deal is this error? (fast response appriciated)
When I replaced the thermo this past weekend i put in a 160 degree thermo cuase thats what my uncle recomended. But that was before i read all the posts on thermos... Should i leave it in there? (replacing my thermo is a pain in the *** i have to undo fuel lines and one of the bolts for the thermo houseing is hard as hell to take in and out, so hard it bruised my palm the next day) If i leave it in there what should i change to take advantage of the lower thermometer? is it
A) a different coolant temp sensor located in the front of the block?
B) a different fan switch or
C) a new prom?

Depends on what your computer is calling for. If the car does not get to the right temp it will show an error for being to cool. I would reccomend that you put the right on in.

What's the problem? I run a 160 thermo in the summer/spring/fall, and put a 195 thermo in during the winter. I'm in NJ also, and my Firebird's temp usually runs at 190 degrees all day.
Now if I have the 160 thermo on in winter, my gauge barely gets near 160 degrees. The computer never goes into closed loop, and I freeze my butt off. I went thru one winter of that; I'll never do it again. (Brrr...)
