which is better
which is better
for an 86tpi
which is better...an open K&N filter on the maf or the stock gutted system with a K&N?
the stock would have colder air but seems that there is no air flow with the panel below it but on the oother hand an open filter gets more air but heated....i know there are air dams but just don't like a scoop hanging under the car or care to remove the fog lites...thanks for info

How about this......Do neither. Putting that open element on the end of the maf is not a good idea. It will hang down, possibly get caught on something (belt, fan, etc.) and will be sucking really hot air from right behind the radiator. DOn't gut the MAF either. You run more of a risk in damaging the sensor than the minimal air flow gain is worth. Just slap on a pair of K&Ns and if you want build you own ram air box using the tech articles on this site.
