Fuel pressure setting and adjusting.... HELP!!!

I am reading on the boards that the stock setting is around 46 PSI. I have an Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator on my L98 and I just installed an Accel fuel pressure gauge. It is reading 35 PSI!!! That means I have been driving around for the last two years with 35 PSI.
I was only able to turn it up to 37PSI. It seems pretty difficult to change, because the distributor wires, etc are in the way. What is an easy way to quickly change the pressure? What PSI should I probably be running (approx) with the mods that I have?

Any help/comments/info will be greatly appreciated.

L98,

Are you adjusting the pressure with the engine running? The vacuum line connected to the FPR?

Yes i am checking it with the engine running, but however not with the vacuum line disconnected. I am guessing its a vacuum line on the AFPR?? And what PSI should i be running once the vacuum line is disconnected considering the mods i have in my signature.
Thanks again,
J.R.
