cooling fans

I'm addressing this to Vader, but welcome any & all replies. This is an '87 IROC, 350/350 conversion done by the previous owner. The cooling fans went south! There was some sort of cheap aftermarket, adjustable fan switch wired in before the fans. This was a real rat's nest!! I've attempted to clean it up, and the switch is now history. I have new fans to install, but, the original fan harness is not wired in. I have it, but, it's not wired in. I'd like to use this harness for the new fans, and then go with a new switch, probably from Hypertech, as I live in Las Vegas, and the summer temps here are a real bear!! What can I do here, and please try to keep it simple, as I AM NOT any kind of an electrician! Like I said, all replies are welcome. Thanks.
