TPS quick question
TPS quick question
I am sure someone knows this and i think i know but am unsure
With the engine off, i open the hood, and pull on the throttle (by the cable from the throttle body) but i dont hear the click from the TPS, when i initially begin to pull the throttle. On my previouse car i could.
Is there suppose to be a "click"
Car RPM is 500 in D with brake applied when warm and idles at about 800 in neutral.
Also I once played with the idle screw so i am sure i messed things up (Idid not follow the correct procedure) but i had to since it kept reving high after i cleaned the TB.
My gas milage is 12.8 driving like my grandmother hehe and i changed all the thincable.
Any i see i went off topic now. So, my main question is the TPS.
It is a 88 305 TPI
Thanks,
Sam

The only clicking I know of that you could have possibly heard is the TV cable that goes to the trans (700-R4). But even if that's what you heard, it's a one time thing.
The clicking from the TV cable should only be heard when you adjust it. After it's set you shouldn't hear it again.
The TPS doesn't click at all, or at least shouldn't. If your previous car's did, then there was something wrong with it, or it was a weird car.
