what are the differences between an LO3 and LB9 block?

what are the differences between an LO3 and LB9 block?
i have an 88 gta with the 305tpi (LB9) and was considering a rebuild or build up but don't want that much down time. a fellow member is giving away an LO3 block and i was wondering how different it is from my LB9. The only thing i would be using from the LO3 is the block itself, everything else would either be new or reused from my LB9...

so what are the differences?

The block itself, none. The shortblock, just the cam.

really? so i could use a lot of the stuff....

would an lt1 cam do any good in a 305 tpi or a 335?

got one from my vette so i figured since its free i'd ask

The LT1 cam seems to do well for many people.
