it makes what blown up car movie sound
when i shut off my car it makes a kurk kurk sound kinda like in the movies when u see the junk cars but while its running it runs fine 4 a 305 anywayz anyone might have an idea??

Sounds to me like your car is dieseling. Try using higher octane gas. If this doesnt fix it, you could be running rich and causing carbon deposits in the cylinders.

Also check your idle speed. If it's idling at 1000-1100 RPM then you will get dieseling as described above.
If you ARE idling too fast don't just crank the idle speed screw down, look for vacuum leaks first. That vintage of cars had MILES of vacuum line under the hood and any one of them (or all of them) could be leaking. The gasket under the carb could be leaking, too. Spray around with carb cleaner to find external vacuum leaks. Pinch off or disconnect and plug vacuum lines to find other vacuum leaks like from the trans. modulator diaphragm or from a diaphragm behind the dash in the HVAC system. Vacuum leaks are responsible for at least 1/2 of the wierd idling/stalling/dieseling and drivability problems with these cars.
