Engine: 350 w/dart iron heads and 383 w/world products sportsman II heads

I am due to pick up a load of heads and blocks from the machine shop. I don't intend to use anything for several months (or years) other than coating everything with WD-40 what is a good way to prevent rust/corrosion?

WD40 on the surface is a good idea. I would also look into those engine storage bags and intake/exhaust caps to keep stuff fron getting into the motor.
