383 advice
i've just stripped out my L48 carb'd smogger from my camaro with the intention of rebuilding it. At the moment i'm not to sure what direction to take. The plan was to go for a power package from someone like edelbrock but i'm thinking maybe as the engine is out, and i'm in no rush , i could think about rebuilding the bottom end as well.
i plan on doing alot of the work myself stripping wise but my question is this - Could anyone recommend a good source of information on building stroker engines i.e book , website as i want to read up as much as possible before deciding what to do.
also i understand that modding the engine also entails beefing up the transmission and drivechain but could you tell me what bhp the stock drivechain is good for, i was quite surprised how flimsy my driveshaft was when i drooped it out surely that cant cope with much more than stock,. oopps sorry its a 700 R4 tranny everything else is stock , think its a 10 bolt rear axle,.
thanks
